As is shown by the main picture (stoodley pike, todmorden.taken by me) i reside with my family in the upper calder valley,a beautiful place, when it's not raining, which it usually is.But when the sun shines it is a fabulous place for setting off early morning and walking the hills. We have spent many holidays driving up into the lakes to go walking when we had so much to explore on our own doorstep.Never has the saying "you can't see the wood for the trees" seemed more fitting.
Walking also enables me to indulge in my other hobby, photography.I am very very much the novice but i enjoy it anyway. The feeling of pride when somebody comments favourably on a picture i've taken is a real buzz.I can spend hours on Flickr when i get the chance.
But my main pride and joy are my family, they are such a delight. To see them growing up to be such well-adjusted people makes me feel like i have done my job properly, but this is also tinged with sadness for me,although i don't like to express it,as i know they will soon be flying the nest and i will miss them terribly. That's my two older girls,i also have two younger children who also seem to be growing up fast in front of our eyes. All four are different in so many ways.
Last, but by no means least,is my husband. Who single-handedly has been more hard work than all four of my brood put together!!we have been together for 21 years and married for 18 of those.(i'm sure i have more than earned my Blue Peter badge by now
).It has been a tumultuos and rocky road but it does seem to be settling down a lot as he gets over his mid-life crisis teehee.Unfortunately, this seems to coincide with middle aged spread and any jobs undertaken by him require much preparation and two coats of looking at for each phase!!But i love him just the same.....hey I am far from perfect, then again who isn't, but we can gloss over that with a big smile!
